4. Open Hand Monument : The monument is situated in Sector 1 of the city, also Chandigarh’s capital complex. It was Le Corbusier who designed this monument. It has also been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The open-handed monument acts as a symbol or emblem of the city. The symbol denotes the happiness and peaceful nature of the city.
